i'm cleaning up my desk at my job. it's always a weird thing, a nostalgiac thing almost. looking at all the junk and papers and emails you've accumulated just over the past six months, and now you have to decide what's worth keeping and what's worth throwing in the trash. that's the hardest thing for me, trashing stuff. even though it may be outdated, useless, and completely irrelevant to me at this point, i still place a lot of attachment on everything i do, and the tiniest email can send me into nostalgiac land.
one would think the easiest thing to do would be being able to throw out all the chronicles that have collected underneath my desk the past few months, but no, not such an easy task for jill. here's a great horoscope of mine, although irrelevant at the time, now it is appropriate:
Aries: Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, is a big star now. But on his way to the top, he has sometimes had a laid-back attitude toward ambition. "As long as I can remember," he has said, "I wanted to sleep late, stay up late, and do nothing in between." Believe it or not, Aries, I suggest you adopt an equally leisurely approach in the coming week. The best thing you can do to serve your burning desires in the long run is to explore the healing mysteries of being a lazy bum right now.
unfortunately, this horoscope was for the week of March 6-March 11, the onset of SXSW, and it couldn't have been more inaccurate at the time in its advice-giving to me. but now that the fest is over, the advice couldn't be more perfect. perhaps that's why i hold onto things that seem obscure at the time, because later, you just might need to hear it again when the time is right...
